New York, NY – January 20, 2026 – Global music authority Billboard is proud to announce the promotion of two proven executives to lead its editorial team. Leila Cobo and Jason Lipshutz have been elevated to Co-Chief Content Officers. Previously, the pair was respectively the Chief Content Officer of Billboard Latin, and the Executive Director of Music. Cobo and Lipshutz will share total oversight of Billboard's editorial content and newsroom operations as well as marquee franchises including Women in Music, Latin Music Week, The Stage at SXSW and more. Additionally, Cobo will continue to oversee Billboard’s Latin music coverage while adding Country music to her scope. Lipshutz will continue to oversee Pop Music, adding Rock, Hip-Hop, and Dance to his role. Both will report to Billboard CEO, Mike Van, effective immediately.

“I am so proud to recognize two incredibly deserving talents within the organization,” said Jay Penske, Chairman and CEO, Penske Media Corporation. “Leila is one of the most well-regarded voices and leaders in Latin American music today. She has brought unprecedented awareness to the genre, championing talent and building globally recognized franchises that celebrate it. Similarly, Jason is one of the most trusted voices in modern pop music and brings passion and creativity to his work. I look forward to watching Leila and Jason helm Billboard’s editorial content and evolve it for the future.”

“We are thrilled to recognize such extraordinary leaders within our organization," said Mike Van, CEO of Billboard. “What Leila has been able to create over the years through her commitment to excellence, deep relationships and passion for music is unprecedented. Additionally, watching Jason grow with Billboard over the years into such a respected and committed leader of the organization is incredible. Together, Leila and Jason bring unmatched expertise, enthusiasm balanced with vision, and business savvy to these roles positioning Billboard’s world class editorial content and events for a bold and exciting future.”

“It’s an honor to steer the content of Billboard, the most respected, forward-looking music media brand in the world,” said Cobo. “It is also a privilege to do so alongside Jason, an absolute encyclopedia of musical knowledge. I am thankful to Jay Penske and Mike Van for their unwavering belief in my ability and giving me this opportunity. I look forward to continuing to elevate diverse voices and genres, expanding Billboard’s storytelling, and shining a spotlight on the global music landscape.”

“I’m thrilled to lead an extraordinary team alongside my friend and colleague Leila Cobo, and grateful to PMC leadership for this opportunity,” said Lipshutz.  “As someone who has worked at every level of the Billboard editorial team, I know the beating heart of this brand, understand the talent on our staff, and see the potential for what we can accomplish in the coming years.”

Today, Billboard andAmazon announced that they have teamed up with comedian/musical improviser, Reggie Watts to present “MuSick: Live fromReggie Watts’ Couch,” a special activation and event with Amazon Pharmacy andAmazon One Medical during weekend one of Coachella.

The activation is based on a simple premise: Amazon is making healthcare less painful. When Watts wakes up on festival day feeling awful, he turns to Amazon One Medical and Amazon Pharmacy to chat with his care team and get his meds delivered even while he’s traveling. Feeling inspired by this stress-free turn of events, he wonders what else might be possible. Reggie will roll out - literally - taking his motorized couch on a spin around Palm Springs and blasting his one-of-a-kind “MuSick” for all to hear. He will eventually pull up at the Ace Hotel where festival-goers will get to have their own wellness-inspired experience with Reggie’s “sick” beats serving as their soundtrack.

Watts shared, “We started to play with all the sounds we make when we’re sick, like coughing, sneezing, and wheezing. Before we knew it, we had created what we now call, MuSick. By simply adding a beat and a splash of humor, we were able to make something that made being sick a little less painful.”

“We are thrilled to join forces with Amazon and Reggie for this exciting activation,” said Dana Droppo, Chief Brand Officer, Billboard. “These festivals are a vibrant celebration of music and culture, and this partnership elevates that experience in a truly engaging way. We’re confident that fans will not only love what we’re creating but will walk away feeling connected and deeply immersed in the spirit of the music.”

"At Amazon, we want to make healthcare easier, affordable, and more personalized for everyone. Our aim is simple: we're working to make it more convenient for patients to see provider sand get their prescriptions filled, without the usual hassle and stress,"the Amazon representative explained. "We're spreading the word through fun, quirky ads across TV, digital platforms, radio, and social media. The ads show how people can get care and meds when they need it, through fast pharmacy delivery and easy-to-use 24/7 telehealth services. We've also teamed up withBillboard for a special event to showcase how we're making healthcare less of a hassle. Reggie's innovative and improvisational style puts an entertaining spin on everything - he has transformed common illness symptoms into songs, turning typically unpleasant experiences into moments that listeners can both relate to and laugh about."

The event will take place on Saturday, April 12 from 12:00 - 4:00 pm at the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs andwill be open to the public. Neil Frances will get the party started, as guests enjoy giveaways, cocktails, mocktails and more!

Press Releases
April 2, 2025

Telemundo and Billboard announced international superstars Anitta, Chiquis, and Olga Tañón as the first group of trailblazing artists and honorees for the third annual Billboard Latin Women in Music special, airing live exclusively on Telemundo on April 24 at 9pm/8c. Hosted by legendary Mexican artist and 2024 “Lifetime Achievement” honoree, Ana Bárbara, the two-hour event will celebrate the groundbreaking women shaping the future of Latin music. The show will also be available on the Telemundo app, Universo and Peacock and throughout Latin America and the Caribbean on Telemundo Internacional.

The initial list of artists that will be honored this year in recognition of their unwavering contributions to Latin music includes:

Global sensation Anitta will receive the 2025 “Vanguard Award” for her groundbreaking artistic achievements and her ability to break barriers, challenge norms, and inspire future generations. The first artist to receive this recognition, she has demonstrated exceptional talent, perseverance and had an impact on shaping the future of music with her unique voice. Anitta has earned eight career entries on the overall Billboard Latin Airplay chart, with two breaking into the top 10. Among her standout achievements is “Machika,” which claimed the No. 1 spot for one week in 2018. Her latest entry, “La Tóxica,” reached No. 2 in September 2024 and marks a significant milestone as her first venture into regional Mexican music. A triple threat who has had global hits in Spanish, English and Portuguese, Annita is celebrated for transcending cultural and musical boundaries, bringing funk carioca to international acclaim. Her bold musical blends with reggaeton, pop, and R&B have created a globally recognized sound that resonates far beyond the borders of Brazil, earning her recognition across the world.

Regional Mexican superstar Chiquis will be honored with the “Impact Award” for her extraordinary contributions to the music industry and society. A three-time Latin GRAMMY® winner (2020, 2022 & 2024) for the Best Banda Music Album and the only woman nominated for a GRAMMY® Award for Best Mexican Music Album in 2025, she has redefined the genre by blending traditional Latin sounds with modern influences while staying deeply connected to her heritage. Beyond her musical achievements, Chiquis is a visionary entrepreneur, media mogul, and advocate. As the founder of Busy Bee Productions, she has successfully launched two hit TV series, while her acclaimed podcast Chiquis and Chill has captivated audiences for four successful seasons. Through Boss Bee Nation, she empowers and uplifts her community, championing causes that drive meaningful change. With 12 career entries on the Billboard Regional Mexican Airplay chart, including three top 10 hits, and two No. 1 albums on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Albums chart, Chiquis continues to break barriers and set new standards. Her influence extends far beyond music—she is a cultural icon, a fearless leader, and an inspiration for generations of women who dare to dream big and defy expectations.

Latin music powerhouse Olga Tañón is receiving the “Lifetime Achievement Award” for her outstanding contributions to Latin music over her iconic 38-year career. Known for her powerful voice and infectious energy, she has left a permanent mark on the Latin music scene with her fusion of salsa, merengue, and pop. Throughout her career, she has earned 30 Billboard Latin Music Awards, sold millions of albums worldwide, and become a symbol of strength, resilience, and empowerment in the Latin community. Her musical versatility, passion, and ability to connect with diverse audiences have made her an enduring icon. Since her breakthrough on the Billboard charts in 1993, Olga Tañón has solidified her place as a trailblazer in tropical music. She has amassed 38 career entries on the Hot Latin Songs chart—the most for any female tropical artist. Of these, 13 have reached the top 10, with three climbing to No. 1, including "Así Es La Vida,” which spent two weeks at No. 1 in 2003. Her dominance extends to the Tropical Albums chart, where she holds an impressive record of 18 top 10 albums—the most for any female artist in the tropical genre.

More honorees and performers for this year will be announced soon. Last year's distinguished recipients included Angela Aguilar for “Musical Dynasty,” Ana Bárbara for “Lifetime Achievement,” Camila Cabello with the “Global Impact” award, Gloria Estefan as “Legend,” Karol G as “Woman of the Year, Kany García as “Spirit of Change,” La India with the “Pioneer” award, and Kali Uchisas “Rising Star.”

  • First time ACM Award nominee, Ella Langley, leads with eight nominations including Female Artist of the Year, New Female Artist of the Year, and six nominations for her song with Riley Green, “you look like you love me,” which include Single of the Year, Song of the Year as an artist and songwriter, Music Event of the Year, and Visual Media of the Year as an artist and director.
  • Cody Johnson ties for the most nominations for a male artist with seven nominations, including his second nomination for Entertainer of the Year, and his third year in a row being nominated for Song of the Year, with “Dirt Cheap” being nominated in the category, as well as Single of the Year and Visual Media of the Year. Johnson is competing with himself in Visual Media of the Year, as his collaboration with Carrie Underwood, “I’m Gonna Love You,” is also up for the award. Johnson’s seven nominations this year mark the most ACM Award nominations he has ever received in one year and make him the most-nominated Texas-born artist this year.
  • Morgan Wallen ties for the most nominations for a male artist with seven nominations, including his third consecutive nomination for Entertainer of the Year. Wallen received four nominations for his collaboration with Post Malone on “I Had Some Help,” which includes three artist nominations and one songwriter nomination for Wallen.
  • Lainey Wilson ties for the most nominations in different categories, earning nods in six separate categories, including her first nomination for Artist-Songwriter of the Year. Wilson’s nominations for Song of the Year mark her fourth consecutive year being nominated and her seventh total nomination (including artist and songwriter credits) in the category.
  • Luke Combs is a nominee for Entertainer of the Year. A win for Combs in this category will also clinch the coveted Triple Crown Award, which consists of an Entertainer of the Year win, plus wins in an act’s respective New Artist (Male, Female, Duo or Group) and Artist (Male, Female, Duo or Group) categories. Past ACM Triple Crown Award recipients include Lainey Wilson, Chris Stapleton, Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean, Carrie Underwood, Kenny Chesney, and others.  This is the sixth year in a row that Luke Combs has been nominated for both Male Artist of the Year and Entertainer of the Year.
  • Chris Stapleton receives six nominations, including his tenth consecutive nomination for Male Artist of the Year, an award he’s won four times in the past, including at the 59th ACM Awards.
  • Old Dominion receives a nomination for Group of the Year, making this the tenth consecutive year they have been nominated in the category. The group has taken home the title every year for the last seven years.
