Today, Billboard, the global authority in music, announced that DY will make his highly anticipated return to the music industry during the 2025 Billboard Latin Music Week, taking place October 20–24 at the historic Fillmore Miami Beach.

The announcement follows DY’s official comeback reveal: 24 hours before the release of his new music video Sonríele, DY dropped a powerful trailer featuring acclaimed actor Anthony Ramos. In the teaser, he confirmed his return, signaling the beginning of a new era defined by reinvention, storytelling, and global ambition.

Hosted by global superstar Jennifer Lopez, the American Music Awards will air live coast-to-coast on Monday, May 26 at 8 p.m. EDT / 5 p.m. PDT on CBS and Paramount+.*

Taking place during May’s Military Appreciation Month, the American Music Awards x Easy Day moments will include two performances and the presentation of a special award honoring a marquee talent who uses their platform to make meaningful contributions to the Veteran community, as well as inspirational stories from active-duty service members and veterans.

In-show fundraising moments (now accepting donations at easyday.org/amas) will benefit Veteran service organizations across the country, including the Bob Woodruff Foundation, Boot Campaign, Congressional Medal of Honor Society, Fisher House, The Folded Flag Foundation, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, Team Rubicon, and UNLV’s Military and Veteran Services Center. A portion of ticket sales will benefit the Easy Day Foundation and its partners, and a portion of audience seating will be reserved for veteran attendees in recognition of their service.

Founded by Frank Fertitta IV and Landon Gyulay, the Easy Day Foundation is a 501(c)(3) grant-making nonprofit committed to helping Veterans transition to civilian life by addressing critical needs including mental health care, job training, placement, and family support services.

“Our goal at this year’s American Music Awards is to not only honor the memory of our fallen heroes but to spotlight the ongoing needs of millions of veterans as they reintegrate into civilian life,” said Frank Fertitta IV, co-founder of Easy Day Foundation. “We’re proud to be part of an iconic award show like the American Music Awards that has the power to raise awareness, inspire compassion and drive real change.”

“Partnering with the AMAs gives us a powerful platform to elevate the stories of our veterans and amplify the mission of Easy Day,” said Landon Gyulay, co-founder of Easy Day Foundation. “These brave men and women have given their all for our freedom and our AMAs partnership allows us to turn national attention into national action on their behalf.”

Gerry Byrne, Vice Chairman of Penske Media Corporation (PMC) and a Marine Corps Vietnam combat Veteran, adds "PMC and Dick Clark Productions are deeply honored to spotlight our nation’s heroes through this meaningful partnership with Easy Day Foundation and the most preeminent organizations supporting our nation’s heroes. The transition from service to civilian life isn’t easy and these special moments during the AMAs shine a much-needed light on the real challenges Veterans face and the critical support systems required to help them navigate life after service.”

Press Releases
April 23, 2025

Today, CBS and Dick Clark Productions announced the nominations for the “2025 American Music Awards” (AMAs), which will kick off summer with host Jennifer Lopez live from Las Vegas on Monday, May 26. Promising to be a night of unforgettable performances, including from Lopez herself, the 51st AMAs will air live coast to coast at 8:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM PT on the CBS Television Network, and stream on Paramount+ in the U.S.*

Fan voting is now open via VoteAMAs.com and the @AMAsInstagram profile in all award categories. Voting closes on Thursday, May 15 at 11:59:59pm PT, with the exception of Collaboration of the Year and Social Song of the Year, which will remain open through the first 30 minutes of the AMAs broadcast.

The “2025 American Music Awards” winners are voted entirely by fans. Nominees are based on key fan interactions - as reflected on the Billboard charts - including streaming, album and song sales, radio airplay and tour grosses. These measurements are tracked by Billboard and Luminate, the entertainment industry's most trusted data partner, and cover the data tracking eligibility period of March 22, 2024 through March 20, 2025.

“2025 American Music Awards” Nominee Highlights:

  • Kendrick Lamar, who already has three American Music Awards to his name, leads this year’s nominations with a total of 10. He is nominated for Artist of the Year, Album of the Year (“GNX”), Song of the Year (“Not Like Us”), Collaboration of the Year (“Luther” with SZA), Favorite Music Video (“Not Like Us”), Favorite Male Hip-Hop Artist, Favorite Hip-Hop Album (“GNX”), Favorite Hip-Hop Song (x3 - “Like That” with Future and Metro Boomin, “Not Like Us,” and “Luther” with SZA). He could tie Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston for the most awards in a single year should he win in all eight categories.
  • Post Malone has previously taken home awards in the Rap/Hip Hop and Pop/Rock categories. He could add to that list with possible wins for Favorite Male Country Artist, Favorite Country Album (“F-1 Trillion”), and Favorite Country Song (“I Had Some Help” with Morgan Wallen) this year.  He is also nominated for Artist of the Year, Album of the Year (“F-1 Trillion”), Song of the Year (“I Had Some Help” with Morgan Wallen), and Collaboration of the Year (x2 - “I Had Some Help” with Morgan Wallen and “Fortnight” with Taylor Swift), for a total of eight.
  • After taking home the New Artist of the Year trophy in 2019, Billie Eilish continues to dominate with nominations for Artist of the Year, Album of the Year (“HIT ME HARD AND SOFT”), Song of the Year (“Birds of a Feather”), Favorite Touring Artist, Favorite Female Pop Artist, Favorite Pop Album (“HIT ME HARD AND SOFT”), and Favorite Pop Song (“Birds of a Feather”).
  • First time nominee Chappell Roan tied Billie’s seven nominations, with a chance to take home trophies for Artist of the Year, New Artist of the Year, Album of the Year (“The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess”), Song of the Year (“Good Luck, Babe!”), Social Song of the Year (“HOT TO GO!”), Favorite Female Pop Artist, and Favorite Pop Album (“The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess”). Roan is also the only artist to be nominated in all three of this year’s exciting new categories: Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Social Song of the Year.
  • Also entering the AMAs chat for the first time, Shaboozey received seven nominations, including New Artist of the Year, Song of the Year (“A Bar Song (Tipsy)”), Social Song of the Year (“A Bar Song (Tipsy)”), Favorite Music Video (“A Bar Song (Tipsy)”), Favorite Male Country Artist, Favorite Country Album (“Where I've Been, Isn't Where I'm Going”), and Favorite Country Song (“A Bar Song (Tipsy)”).
  • Other first time nominees include Benson Boone, Doechii, Gracie Abrams, Jelly Roll, Lola Young, The Marias, ROSÉ, Teddy Swims, Tommy Richman, Tyla, as well as Artist of the Year nominees Sabrina Carpenter and Zach Bryan.
  • Taylor Swift, the winningest artist in AMAs history, could add to her record-shattering 40 wins this year, having been nominated in six categories including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year (“The Tortured Poets Department”), Collaboration of the Year (“Fortnight” featuring Post Malone), Favorite Touring Artist, Favorite Female Pop Artist, and Favorite Pop Album (“The Tortured Poets Department”).
  • In addition to an Album of the Year nod for “COWBOY CARTER,” Beyoncé is in the running for Favorite Female Country Artist and Favorite Country Album.
  • Hozier’s standout year earned five nominations including Song of the Year (“Too Sweet”),  Favorite Male Pop Artist, Favorite Rock Artist, Favorite Rock Album (“Unreal Unearth: Unending”), and Favorite Rock Song (“Too Sweet”). He would become a first time American Music Award winner should he take home the trophy in any of these categories.

The show will also be available on the Telemundo app, Universo and Peacock and throughout Latin America and the Caribbean on Telemundo Internacional.

The initial list of artists that will be honored this year in recognition of their unwavering contributions to Latin music includes:

Global sensation Anitta will receive the 2025 “Vanguard Award” for her groundbreaking artistic achievements and her ability to break barriers, challenge norms, and inspire future generations. The first artist to receive this recognition, she has demonstrated exceptional talent, perseverance and had an impact on shaping the future of music with her unique voice. Anitta has earned eight career entries on the overall Billboard Latin Airplay chart, with two breaking into the top 10. Among her standout achievements is “Machika,” which claimed the No. 1 spot for one week in 2018. Her latest entry, “La Tóxica,” reached No. 2 in September 2024 and marks a significant milestone as her first venture into regional Mexican music. A triple threat who has had global hits in Spanish, English and Portuguese, Annita is celebrated for transcending cultural and musical boundaries, bringing funk carioca to international acclaim. Her bold musical blends with reggaeton, pop, and R&B have created a globally recognized sound that resonates far beyond the borders of Brazil, earning her recognition across the world.

Regional Mexican superstar Chiquis will be honored with the “Impact Award” for her extraordinary contributions to the music industry and society. A three-time Latin GRAMMY® winner (2020, 2022 & 2024) for the Best Banda Music Album and the only woman nominated for a GRAMMY® Award for Best Mexican Music Album in 2025, she has redefined the genre by blending traditional Latin sounds with modern influences while staying deeply connected to her heritage. Beyond her musical achievements, Chiquis is a visionary entrepreneur, media mogul, and advocate. Her influence extends far beyond music—she is a cultural icon, a fearless leader, and an inspiration for generations of women who dare to dream big and defy expectations.

Latin music powerhouse Olga Tañón is receiving the “Lifetime Achievement Award” for her outstanding contributions to Latin music over her iconic 38-year career. Throughout her career, she has earned 30 Billboard Latin Music Awards, sold millions of albums worldwide, and become a symbol of strength, resilience, and empowerment in the Latin community.
