Leila Cobo and Jason Lipshutz Both Promoted to Lead Editorial at Billboard as Chief Content Officers

New York, NY – January 20, 2026 – Global music authority Billboard is proud to announce the promotion of two proven executives to lead its editorial team. Leila Cobo and Jason Lipshutz have been elevated to Co-Chief Content Officers. Previously, the pair was respectively the Chief Content Officer of Billboard Latin, and the Executive Director of Music. Cobo and Lipshutz will share total oversight of Billboard's editorial content and newsroom operations as well as marquee franchises including Women in Music, Latin Music Week, The Stage at SXSW and more. Additionally, Cobo will continue to oversee Billboard’s Latin music coverage while adding Country music to her scope. Lipshutz will continue to oversee Pop Music, adding Rock, Hip-Hop, and Dance to his role. Both will report to Billboard CEO, Mike Van, effective immediately.

Born and raised in Colombia, Leila is a Fulbright scholar with degrees in classical piano performance from Manhattan School of Music and a master's in communications from the Annenberg School at USC. Today, Rolling Stone announced that esteemed journalists Matt Bai and Katherine Eban will join the brand as it expands its coverage of national politics, public health, and the forces shaping American life. Bai will serve as National Affairs Columnist and Eban as National Investigative Correspondent, with both beginning their roles on January 1.

Bai has covered seven presidential campaigns and is the author of two acclaimed books, including All the Truth Is Out, his examination of the Gary Hart scandal that was adapted into the 2018 film The Front Runner, which he co-wrote. Earlier in his career, Bai reported for The Boston Globe and Newsweek, wrote speeches for UNICEF, and held fellowships at Harvard, Stanford, the University of Chicago, and the Wilson Center.

Katherine Eban is an award-winning investigative journalist and bestselling author whose reporting spans pharmaceutical safety, national security, and public health. Penske Media Corporation (PMC) today announced that its current President and beloved leader, George Grobar, will transition into a role advising the CEO of PMC after 16 years with the company. Grobar will continue to serve on Penske Media’s Board of Directors, in addition to supporting the company in a part-time capacity. Craig Perreault, PMC’s Chief Strategy Officer, has been promoted to the role of President of Media & Corporate Development.

Grobar joined PMC in 2009 as Chief Financial Officer, where he played a pivotal role in driving the company’s growth through several new brand acquisitions, establishing PMC’s joint venture operations in India, and leading the successful integration of numerous PMC iconic brands. He was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2018, overseeing PMC’s music and entertainment brands as well as the company’s operating units and business strategies. Since 2021, Grobar has served as PMC’s President.

In addition, he oversaw the Head of Industry Sales (HOI) team, and the International Licensing and Product Licensing divisions.

During his tenure at PMC, Perreault has also served in several senior roles, including Chief Digital Officer, Senior Vice President of Business Development, Vice President of Products & Strategic Partnerships, GM of Mail.com, and Senior Director of Business Development, working closely with Penske and Grobar since the company’s founding.

Today, Rolling Stone announced that Gus Wenner will assume the role of Executive Chairman, and Julian Holguin will become the brand’s CEO.  Wenner will collaborate with Holguin to ensure the brand’s long-term strategic vision while pursuing new ventures outside of Rolling Stone.  Holguin will assume oversight of the business.

Today, The Hollywood Reporter (THR) announced the promotion of two accomplished leaders from within. Liz Culley has been elevated to Senior Vice President, Sales and Brand Strategy, and Debra Fink has been named Vice President, Entertainment and Special Projects. Both Culley and Fink are based in Los Angeles.

In her new role, Culley will add oversight of video, social and audio product development to her scope in addition to consumer sales and strategy. She will report to EVP, Publisher, Lori O’Connor.  

“Liz is a dynamo,” said O’Connor. “Her creativity and extensive experience across content, sales, and product equip her with a unique skill set to create and execute custom programs that bridge video and social platforms. She will be instrumental in driving THR’s digital-first growth and enhancing audience engagement.”

Culley’s career spans more than 15 years across the entertainment and media sectors. Before joining THR, she was the executive director of FYC and entertainment sales at Condé Nast, where she forged advertising and partnership strategies for major studios, capitalizing on Condé Nast’s prominent events such as The Met Gala, Vogue World and The New Yorker Festival. She is also credited with enhancing Vanity Fair’s FYC experiential offerings creating content that resonated with both audiences and advertisers, notably by bringing the awards podcast Little Gold Men to live audiences.  

She began her career as a producer and a journalist, creating bespoke digital-first series and concert series with top music and theatrical talent for media companies Myspace, Popsugar, San Francisco Chronicle, YouTube, the NBA and X Games. Prior to Condè Nast, Culley was a senior sales executive at Bustle Digital Group. During her career, Culley has led teams responsible for marketing, digital production, video, audio, and live streaming.  

A seasoned executive, Debra Fink’s augmented scope includes collaboration with marketing and sales to develop integrated partnerships across THR’s trade initiatives and other special projects in addition to her existing sales responsibilities.

Prior to THR, Debra was Executive Vice President at Screen International where she led the strategy, sales and implementation of Screen’s award season franchise building the business into a global success. Penske Media Elevates George Grobar to President

Los Angeles, CA, October 19, 2023: Today, Penske Media Corporation (PMC) announced that George Grobar will be promoted to the role of company President, effective immediately. Grobar, who has been at PMC for 14 years, has held the title of Chief Operating Officer, overseeing the company's operating units and many of the corporate departments. He most recently led the integration of The Hollywood Reporter and Billboard into PMC and managed a portfolio of PMC’s music and entertainment brands and corporate planning functions.  

As President, he will expand his scope with oversight of the entire PMC brand portfolio, including 26 business units (brands) and counting. Grobar will continue to have a seat on PMC’s board of directors. He reports directly to Jay Penske, Chairman, Founder, and CEO of PMC.  

Grobar joined PMC as Chief Financial Officer in 2009 and built the company's financial planning infrastructure, helped lead many acquisitions, built a PMC joint venture operation in India, and worked with the company's growing portfolio of operating units.  Grobar's promotion coincides with Penske Media's significant growth and expansion over the last three years.

While at Variety, he was the first to question empire-builder Garth Drabinsky’s claims of box-office success at his now defunct Livent.

Most recently, Gerard’s lead op-ed column in the New York Daily News called on the city’s new mayor to divert the previous administration’s $50 million budget line for an unneeded performing arts complex in the Hudson Yards development to arts groups and education. His columns and profiles have appeared in the New York Times Magazine, Vanity Fair and Esquire as well as major newspapers around the U.S. and abroad. His latest book Wynn Place Show, a history of off-Broadway, has been earning rave reviews since its publication in December.

He will join Deadline.com’s senior management team and be based in the New York office.
