Variety to Honor ITV CEO Adam Crozier With Achievement in International TV Award at MIPTV

February 27, 2015

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Adam Crozier, CEO of ITV, will receive Variety’s Annual Achievement in International Television Award during MIPTV 2015

February 27, 2015 – (Los Angeles) Variety Magazine is proud to honor ITV CEO Adam Crozier with this year’s Achievement in International TV Award at an exclusive cocktail reception on the Croisette.

“The Achievement in Intl. Television Award is given to individuals who exhibit leadership, creativity and innovation in the global television marketplace,” said Associate Publisher Donna Pennestri. “In the past five years since Adam Crozier was named CEO, ITV has exhibited real  growth. Its family of channels has seen the largest audience of any UK commercial broadcaster; ITV Studios and ITV Studios Global Entertainment are, respectively, the UK’s biggest production company and world-leading distribution company – making, distributing and selling over 40,000 hours of high-quality television around the globe to more than 3,000 international broadcasters; and ITV Studios US Group has become the leader of independent non-scripted television production in the US. Crozier has grown these various businesses so effectively and strategically, there is no one in this space more deserving than him to receive our award this year.”

Variety executive editor Steven Gaydos added, “As ITV  celebrates its 60th anniversary this year, and its Studios arm builds on a heritage of over 50 years of award-winning and critically-acclaimed program creation, Adam Crozier has expertly led his teams by maintaining a firm appreciation of the company’s storied history, all the while taking huge leaps into the future of the international television business, especially via its Studios’ expansion into territories beyond the UK, including the US. ITV has developed a keen eye for commissioning  big hits in all formats from ‘Downton Abbey’ to ‘The X Factor;’ and ITV Studios produces everything from the world’s longest-running drama serial ‘Coronation Street’ and hit international drama franchises ‘Mr. Selfridge’ and ‘Agatha Christie’s Marple’ in the UK to original unscripted formats ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ and ‘Duck Dynasty’ in the US, not to mention the countless hours of local programming it also produces for Australia, France, Germany and the Nordics. Crozier and his team’s work speaks for itself, and we look forward to learning what’s to come in the company’s future.”
